ABHAYAM has come up with a solution for enhancing the technical, software and industrial skills of the final year (3rd Year) diploma / polytechnic students. The Department of Technical Education (Polytechnic Education) of Government of Karnataka has implemented C20 Syllabus for Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2020.

Program Structure for Final Year (5th and 6th Semester)

In the 5th Semester, the student has to select any one of the below Pathways

• Program Specialization Pathway
• Science and Research Pathway
• Entrepreneurship Pathway

If a student choses Program Specialization Pathway, they have to study any one of the specialization as below. Students have to an Internship and Project at the end of this Pathway in 6th Semester.

• Structural Engineering
• Town Planning and Green Building
• Transportation Engineering
• Built Environment

The Science and Research Pathway consists of FOUR papers and student has to take all of them. Students have to submit a Research Based Project at the end of this Pathway in 6th Semester.

The Entrepreneurship Pathway opens up the creativity and innovation minds of young engineers where they have to come up with a proposal for a startup / incubation in 6th Semester.

5th Semester Structure

• As a pilot, The Built Environment Specialization was implemented to the Diploma Students of PVP Polytechnic College in Bangalore in December 2022. The college had a success rate of 98% in the 5th Semester examination conducted in January 2023. ABHAYAM will be implementing the program again this year and expand it to more colleges across the state.
• Since August 2023, we have implemented Built Environment Specialization again with the next batch of students of PVP Polytechnic College in Bangalore.
• Soon we will be implementing Transportation Engineering Specialization for a couple of colleges in Bangalore.

• Internships, if necessary, can also be arranged based on the requirement of the program.

Future Plans

• The content for Structural Engineering Pathway and Transportation Engineering Pathway is ready and will be implemented in colleges based on the demand.
• The Town Planning and Green Buildings Pathway, Science and Research Pathway and Entrepreneurship Pathway will be developed and offered only when there is a demand from the colleges.
